Fans of Blizzard's Diablo are sure to be pleased with Diablo 2. Now you can choose from 5 character classes (instead of three), explore several new environments and find a myriad of items. As a added bonus Blizzards free Battle.net will get you competing, trading and adventuring with up to 7 other people. Unfortunately this game gets old after a while. The point and click interface drives me crazy. Overall I liked playing through Diablo 2, its just the constant hacking, slashing, and blasting of monsters that gets kind of old.

You'll hear all sorts of opinions about Diablo 2. Personally, I liked it. And this isn't just a case of, "if you liked Diablo 1, you'll like the sequel." I thought that the first Diablo was a fun game, but it had too many flaws. D2, therefore, is a really fun game that fixes lots of those problems. You have more choice for your character -- each "archetype" has a distinct playing style and more skills that you can specialize in without replaying the game. The original Diablo was also pretty repetitive. You fight your way through dungeon level after dungeon level, with your only reward being a subtle graphics change every 5 levels. In D2, you go between huge wilderness areas and cramped dungeons. Different places have very different feelings to them -- both their visual appearance and their strategic layout changes drastically.. as do the monsters. I didn't get bored nearly as quickly as I did with Diablo.

Of course, you still will get bored eventually... This is still a point-and-click, hack-and-slash game at heart. But I easily got my $50 out of it before I stopped playing.

Game Description

The sequel to Diablo, this game continues the awesome story of Diablo and opens up a whole new universe of gameplay. The graphics are quite a bit better now, however, the game is no longer that addictive. You can play in singleplayer and multiplayer mode, or you can register with blizzard for free and play in a cheat protected online environment called "Realm". There have been a lot of problems with this lately, but now it seems everything has been fixed.
The game has fairly steep requirements or calls for a 3D card to give it the twist it needs. Can be a lot of fun for quite a while, but gets boring after abotu 2 months.
